别小看一个小小的定冠词，在下面这些词组中，有“the”和没有“the”意思可大有不同呢~

1. in case of 和 in the case of

in case of假使；如果；万一；

In case of ur-gency, call the po-lice.

一旦发生紧急情况，打电话给警察。

in the case of就……来说

In the case of a phys-i-cal change no new sub-stance is formed.

就物理变化来说，没有新的物质产生。

2. other 和 the other

other另外的人或物，表示泛指

There are other vis-i-tors be-sides me.

参观人除我之外，还有另外的人。

the other (两个中的)另一个，表示特指

I have two broth-ers. One is a teacher，the other is a doc-tor.

3. peo-ple 和 the peo-ple

peo-ple 泛指人们

4. out of ques-tion 和 out of the ques-tion

out of ques-tion毫无疑问的

It is out of ques-tion that he will pass the exam.

毫无疑问，他考试会及格的。

out of the ques-tion不可能的；办不到的

Miss-ing school to watch the foot-ball match is out of the ques-tion.

为看足球比赛而旷课，那可不行。

5. last + 时间 和 the last + 时间 (next同理)

last week ( month…) 指现在讲话时以前的那个星期（月）

I had a cold last week.

我上星期感冒了。

the last week ( month…) 指到今天为止的以前的一个星期(月)里。

I have had a cold for the last week.

我感冒了一个星期。
